How Sessions Are Arranged
In individual therapy, you meet with our psychologist in a one-on-one setting. We begin by discussing your referral or booking pathway, so the session reflects your circumstances. Therapy is available through Medicare, NDIS, WorkCover in some cases, or private bookings. Each session is structured with clear time boundaries. Our goal is to give you predictability in how appointments run.
The number and frequency of sessions may differ depending on how you arrange them. Our team also assists with scheduling, helping you find appointment times that work within your week. Telehealth appointments are also available for clients who prefer online sessions or live outside the local area. By focusing on the practicalities of access and structure, we aim to make individual therapy straightforward to organise.

NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides a pathway for eligible participants to access psychology services. We deliver individual therapy under NDIS plans when supports are approved. Our psychologist provides sessions in line with documentation, and we arrange bookings once the referral process is complete. Families, carers or participants can contact us to discuss scheduling.
Medicare
Medicare is one of the most common ways adults access individual therapy. We provide sessions through this pathway when clients hold a Mental Health Treatment Plan or a GP referral. Our psychologist conducts the sessions, and we process rebates in line with Medicare guidelines. Private appointments are also available for those not using a referral.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need a referral for individual therapy?
A referral is not always required for individual therapy. People can often book sessions privately, but Medicare or WorkCover pathways generally need a referral from a doctor or relevant authority. NDIS participants also require documentation to confirm eligibility. Whether or not a referral is needed depends on the funding option chosen to access the service.
Do you support clients with mood disorders such as depression and anxiety?
Yes. Our psychologist provides therapy for a range of mood and emotional conditions, including depression and anxiety. Sessions focus on understanding your experiences, developing coping strategies and supporting overall wellbeing.
What issues can individual therapy cover?
Individual therapy may address a wide variety of concerns, depending on the client’s circumstances. Topics might include stress, adjustment to life changes, workplace challenges or interpersonal difficulties. The psychologist works with the individual to focus on the matters raised.
How do you prepare for an individual therapy session?
Preparing for individual therapy can involve thinking about what you want to talk about or writing down key points to remember during the session. Some people bring relevant documents, such as referral letters or assessments. Others prefer to attend with no preparation and let the conversation develop naturally.
